Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan (born 2 November 1965), frequently referred to by the initialism SRK, is an Indian actor, film producer, and globally recognized entrepreneur who predominantly works in Hindi cinema. Often hailed in the global media as the "Baadshah of Bollywood", "King of Romance", and "King Khan", he is considered one of the most successful film stars in the world. With a career spanning over three decades, he has appeared in more than 100 films and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. He is the recipient of the Padma Shri by the Government of India, and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Legion of Honour by the Government of France.

Early Life and Education

Shah Rukh Khan was born in New Delhi into a middle-class Muslim family. His father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, was an Indian independence activist from Peshawar, while his mother, Lateef Fatima, was a magistrate. Khan spent his formative years in the Rajendra Nagar neighborhood of Delhi. He attended St. Columba's School, where he received the Sword of Honor, the highest award given to a student. He later pursued a bachelor's degree in Economics from Hans Raj College (Delhi University), though he spent most of his time participating in the Theatre Action Group (TAG) under the mentorship of theater director Barry John. He enrolled for a master's degree in Mass Communication at Jamia Millia Islamia but left to focus on acting.

  • Historic Comeback (2023): After a brief hiatus, SRK shattered Indian box office records in 2023 with back-to-back all-time mega-blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, grossing over ₹1000 crore each globally, followed by the hit Dunki.
